I had wanted to do massage therapy for a long time, but I was scared of going to school. I was scared, I never thought I was intelligent, I never thought I could do it. It was a lack of confidence that held me back from doing what I was passionate about. Coming here and being a mature student, I told myself to suck it up and get over that fear.
I had never studied before, but all of the sudden it was like ‘hey, I can do this! I can read, I am smart, I can do this!’ so it gave me the confidence to keep going. I feel like I am setting a good example for my daughter. She sees me working hard and studying, that’s her perception of me and I really like it.
