triOS Students Celebrate Cisco Dream Team Success at FIFA World Cup 2026
July 10th, 2026
Two triOS College technology students turned their classroom training into a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity on the world stage.
Ismaila Abu Zibiri, a Cyber Security Administration student, and Abdullah Shaikh, a System Administration student, were selected for the Cisco Networking Academy Dream Team for FIFA World Cup 2026, an exclusive opportunity launched by Cisco and FIFA for qualified Cisco Networking Academy students.
Out of all the applicants across Toronto, Ontario, only three students were selected, and two of them represent triOS College.
For anyone exploring cyber-security courses in Ontario or considering a future in IT, their success is a powerful example of where career-focused training, mentorship, and hard work can lead.
From Classroom Learning to Global IT Stage
The Cisco Networking Academy Dream Team for FIFA World Cup 2026 gives selected students the unique chance to support critical IT and networking operations for one of the world’s largest sporting events.
Getting selected was no easy feat. Students had to navigate a highly competitive selection process that required: Cisco CCNA coursework, written submissions, a video application, instructor nomination, and a letter of recommendation.
For Muhammad Siddiqui, Program Coordinator and instructor at triOS College, the achievement reflects both the students’ dedication and the real-world application built into the curriculum:
“This is not just an achievement, it is a statement. It reflects what we stand for: real-world readiness, technical excellence, communication and professionalism, passion, dedication, and teamwork.”
Practical IT Training That Builds Career Momentum
For Abdullah, being selected was both unexpected and deeply rewarding. As a System Administration student, he said his network course helped prepare him for the technical side of the opportunity, including working with Cisco switches.
“Coming back to school definitely did prepare me for what is to come. Doing the network course, there was a lot of learning that I will be able to apply to the FIFA World Cup.”
For Ismaila, a Cyber Security Administration student, the Dream Team selection also helped create career momentum beyond the event itself. He shared that being part of the team helped him land an internship opportunity and stand out during the placement process.
“Just telling a company that I am part of [Cisco Dream Team] made them want me to be part of their internship placement. It gave me an edge.”
Together, their stories show how practical, career-focused IT training can help students build skills, confidence, and professional momentum.
Mentorship That Makes a Difference
Behind every great student success story is a strong support system. Muhammad Siddiqui worked closely with students throughout the application process, helping them understand the requirements, complete coursework, prepare submissions, and move through the nomination process.
This achievement highlights the value of learning in an environment where students are actively encouraged and mentored to pursue elite opportunities beyond the classroom walls.
A Proud Moment for triOS College
For triOS College, this student success story highlights the impact of practical, industry-aligned technology training.
It also shows how programs like Cyber Security Administration and System Administration can help students build the skills and confidence to pursue opportunities in today’s digital workplace.
Ismaila and Abdullah’s achievement is an exciting reminder that student success can start in the classroom and lead to experiences that reach far beyond it.
Congratulations to Ismaila and Abdullah on this incredible accomplishment. Your hard work, professionalism, and commitment continue to make the triOS College community proud.
