Grad Transfers Skills Gained at triOS

August 24th, 2021 / By triOS College

I graduated from the Paralegal program at the triOS Windsor campus in the spring of 2013. I wrote and passed my exam with the Law Society that summer and launched my paralegal services in the fall of 2013. At the same time, we moved from Windsor to Brampton. In the spring of 2014, an opportunity arose for me to manage a community outreach centre in one of the more challenged communities in Brampton. I continued to provide legal services for a couple of years, but eventually, my responsibilities as the manager of The Journey Neighbourhood Centre consumed all of my time and I surrendered my license.

Kevin, a graduate of triOS College’s Paralegal diploma program, reflects on how triOS shaped his life and career.

However, my training as a Paralegal has served me well in my capacity, not only in managing the centre, but in providing information to community residents who struggle with many legal challenges. I remember fondly my time at triOS, the studies, the staff, and my fellow students. I am still in contact with some of my classmates via social media. Interestingly, when I took on the managerial role at The Journey, there was a triOS placement student already on site from the Brampton college. That student stayed on as a volunteer for many years after and is still in contact with us, at The Journey.

I appreciated the training I received, the dedication of my instructors, and the atmosphere at the Windsor campus. Sincerely, Kevin B. www.thejourneyneighbourhoodcentre.ca
